World Cup fever has gripped us here at City HQ and we’ve been asking our players to talk about their earliest memories of the greatest show on earth.

Today it’s the turn of Kyle Walker, who enjoyed a fine debut season at City after joining from Tottenham last summer.

He’s currently in Russia leading England’s assault on the glittering gold trophy. He played the full 90 minutes in their opening game, a 2-1 win over Tunisia, and he’s expected to keep his place for Sunday’s crucial match against Panama.

Indeed, he is operating at centre-half in Gareth Southgate’s three-at-the-back formation.

He took time out to talk to us about his World Cup hero and his earliest memory of the competition. It’s always a fascinating listen when Walker speaks to CityTV.
