In New York, 26-year-old Kwame and other Young Leaders are working to use the power of football to help tackle the issue of isolation.
New York City is one of the world’s most diverse cities, yet many young people across the city’s different neighbourhoods remain isolated within their own communities.
The Soccer Bloc project aims to bring people together and the young people leading this initiative are creating safe spaces across the city and providing access to after-school and summer activities for over 500 children.
Kwame and other Young Leaders in New York City are helping to create safe spaces across the city, by providing access to after-school and summer street soccer programmes and festivals which connect children and young people from different communities and celebrate the diversity for which New York City is famous.
