Bernard Halford sadly passed away last week aged 77.

Bernard, nicknamed Mr Manchester City, dedicated 47 years of his life to City as Club Secretary and Life President.

This evening, during City’s game at home to Cardiff, there will be a series of tributes to Bernard.

A crowd surfer flag will be released into the East Stand as the players enter the pitch in what will be a fitting tribute to a man who leaves an indelible mark on Manchester City Football Club.

The players will also be wearing black armbands, and there will be a minute’s applause just before kick-off.

Tonight’s tributes follow the announcement last week that the CFA’s Academy Auditorium will be named the Bernard Halford Auditorium so that the very youngest of our City family will come to know him and what he gave to the Club – particularly in youth development – during his 47 years with us.

Watch the video above to see the tributes we have received for Bernard over recent days.
