November’s Manchester Derby saw City produce a fine performance, beating United 3-1 and scoring one of the best goals the Etihad Stadium has ever seen.

David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan scored the goals, with the German finishing off a remarkable 44-pass move to put gloss on a brilliant display.

“We deserved the victory,” City manager Pep Guardiolasaid afterwards. “The first half we played a little bit with fear and we didn’t want to lose the ball. We didn’t want to attack and they defended well.

“In the second half the game was a bit open so we had to find more space and we made a good performance against a top, top team.”
