The kit is inspired by the Club’s history, with specific design elements voted for by the Club’s fans, and is primarily light blue with a white trim. The crest features gold lettering denoting the Club’s 125 years.
The shirt is a classic design, free of shirt sponsorship. This was made possible for the Club’s special anniversary, by the support of Etihad, the Club’s principal partner, and Nexen Tire, sleeve partner.
The inside neck of the shirt also contains a copy of the Club’s founding document, signed by Joshua Parlby, who played an instrumental role in leading the members of Ardwick AFC to found and incorporate Manchester City Football Club.
A limited edition run of 1,894 individually numbered authentic shirts will produced to reflect the Club’s founding year, as well as replica shirts for men, women and kids.
