After a long and dramatic season, Manchester City have won the Premier League.
And there was an outpouring of delight at both the AMEX Stadium and the Etihad Stadium as the full-time whistle rang out to confirm that City had retained the title.
Pep Guardiola’s players and staff poured onto the pitch and the chants of ‘championes, championes, ole, ole, ole’ began.
It was a similar scene back in Manchester, where those fans who couldn’t make it to the South Coast were watching in City Square and they roared their approval.
And rightly so, after a fantastic performance from Guardiola’s men, particularly after falling behind to an early Glenn Murray goal.
But they are champions for a reason and responded with aplomb, Sergio Aguero levelling instantly before Aymeric Laporte put City ahead before the break.
Two sensational goals followed, Riyad Mahrez picking out the top corner from 20 yards and Ilkay Gundogan curling in a 30-yard free kick.
