The England international popped up in the right place on the edge of the six-yard box to instinctively sweep home a left foot shot after latching onto Alex McCarthy’s punch clear.
And just like his last Premier League strike for City - a thunderbolt against Newcastle in September 2018 - it raised the roof at the Etihad.
