With City returning to FA Women’s Super League action this Saturday, we rewind the clock 10 months to revisit the last time we played host to the Midlanders.
We met at the Academy Stadium in December 2018 and Nick Cushing’s side emerged victorious from a tight encounter thanks to Georgia Stanway’s opportunistic first-half strike.
Capitalising on an error by Birmingham keeper, Hannah Hampton, Stanway first seized possession on the left-hand edge of the box before superbly moving inside the keeper and firing home from a tight angle.
It proved the only goal of the game and saw City draw level with Arsenal at the top of the table.
