Christian Eriksen fortuitously halved the deficit for the hosts before Sterling put the game beyond doubt with a poacher’s finish to convert the rebound from Aymeric Laporte’s effort.
City now need just three points from our remaining five games to be crowned Champions.
De Bruyne was influential in his midfield role, completing 28 accurate passes with a 100% dribble success rate.
“We knew Tottenham were on a good run and they’re an unbelievable team,” the 26-year-old said at full-time. “To come here is not easy and [to win] shows the spirit and the quality of the team. We did very well.”
