Today’s Goal of the Day harks back to a bona fide Etihad Stadium classic: the 6-3 victory over Arsenal back in 2013.

Fernandinho scored it – one of two he bagged that day as City made significant strides towards a league-and-cup double.

The result saw City move up to third in the table, three points behind Arsenal, who led at the time.

Afterwards, City manager Manuel Pellegrini said: “This was not our best performance of the season because Arsenal scored three goals and we also missed a lot of chances. It is good to score six goals against Arsenal, who have the best defence in the Premier League, but we could have scored five or six more. We will keep trying to play this way, but we must also keep improving.”

City Team: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Clichy, Fernandinho, Kompany, Demichelis, Nasri (Garcia 90’), Yaya Toure, Negredo, Aguero (Navas 50’), Silva (Milner 71’)
