Elano scored one of the greatest goals to grace the Etihad Stadium when Newcastle came to town in 2007.

City already led 2-1, after goals from Martin Petrov and Emile Mpenza had turned the game on its head following Obefami Martins’ opener.

Then, capping a scintillating individual display, the Brazilian - a fans’ favourite - stepped up to smash an unstoppable 25-yard free-kick right into the top corner to seal the victory for the Blues.
