A moment of magic from Michael Johnson sets up DaMarcus Beasley to slide a cool finish under Jens Lehmann and equalise for Manchester City at Arsenal in 2007.
Beasley’s strike came just before half-time after Tomas Rosicky had put the Gunners in the lead at the Emirates Stadium. Although City put on a brave showing in the second half, goals from Cesc Fabregas and Julio Baptista won the match for Arsene Wenger’s side.
City manager Stuart Pearce said after the match: “I thought the endeavour of the players was fantastic tonight and I was disappointed for them when they didn’t get the result.”
The Blues finished the 2006/07 season in 14th place in the Premier League having collected a total of 42 points.
