David Silva then scored two in two minutes after the break to seal a big win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The result saw City close the gap on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table to five points after the West London side had been held to a draw at home to Burnley earlier in the day.
It was our 11th-straight league win over the Magpies.
