Fernando on important West Brom win
Having been overtaken by Arsenal earlier in the day after their win away at Sunderland, City moved back top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.
It ended a run of six games without a win and provided City with a boost ahead of Tuesday’s big game at home to Barcelona in the Champions League.
Fernando started the game against West Brom at right-back – the first time he’s played there for City – and looked comfortable throughout.
“We knew how important this game was for us,” he told CityTV afterwards. “It was a difficult game but we played really well, so we must congratulate all of our team-mates.
“It was important to win because it was six games in a row without a victory.”
