Pep Guardiola spoke of his pride in Manchester City’s display following their 2-1 loss to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Though the manager conceded the result had effectively ended City’s title hopes, Guardiola insisted: “We created enough chances to win – but football is all about results.

“I like my team to be proactive not reactive. It’s not easy – especially against a team as good as Chelsea – but it was a 1000 times better than we played at Arsenal.”

The City manager was also hugely complimentary about the displays of skipper Vincent Kompany and Fabian Delph who both returned to the starting line-up after lengthy absences – “they were outstanding” – and also reflected on Chelsea’s 3-1 win at the Etihad last December as a pivotal result in the Club’s season.

“That moment was so crucial for us in terms of our season,” Pep reflected. “I don’t have regrets but we do have to analyse for next season.”
