Bernardo Silva said he was delighted to have finally made his City bow after coming on as a substitute in the Club’s 3-0 pre-season win over West Ham in Reykjavik.

The Portuguese midfielder only linked up with the City squad at the start of the week having been given extra time off after his Confederations Cup duties with Portugal earlier this summer.

“It was great - I played 30 minutes and enjoyed it,” he said.

“The team is fantastic. And I hope in the future we can achieve a lot of things.”

Bernardo also revealed he wasn’t quite 100 per cent fit but said he was looking forward to integrating with his new team-mates.

“I am sure I will learn a lot from Pep and the staff,”  he added. “I am really happy to be here at the Club.

“I am sure that together we can look to achieve a lot of success.”
