Pep Guardiola has stated that there are still improvements to be made despite City’s incredible start to the season.

City prepare to face Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 16 December and will be hoping to extend our - already record-breaking – 15 game winning streak in the Premier League.

We are currently a magnificent 11 points clear of second-placed United, and 18 points above our upcoming opponents – Spurs.

But as the Blues prepare to face Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Guardiola has named a number of areas which he hopes to improve.

“In all aspects, we can improve,” the manager explained. “For example, sometimes, our fullbacks allow the opposition to make crosses and the reception for our wingers are not always correct in the way they receive the ball.

“We need to know how to attack and defend and know what they need to do immediately. We cannot wait until half time to realise.

“There are many things we can improve. It depends on the opponent because we don’t play alone.

The players see after the game what we have done good and things we have not done so good, we speak individually with some of players too.”

Guardiola continued to speak about the importance of talking about the bad things even when the team are performing well in order to improve.

“We always show them ways in which they can improve as there are always weapons, in the good sense, to try to make them feel they can be better players” Pep added.

“A big mistake is thinking that things are good when you win and bad when you lose. You have to increase talking about bad things when you win as that’s when you have to work the most.

“When you lose, you have to think more about their confidence and say: what can we do better?”
