Pep Guardiola has reasserted his hope that Sergio Aguero will remain a City player for many years to come.

Pep Guardiola answers questions from the gathered journalists ahead of the trip to Bournemouth.

High on the agenda was Sergio Aguero and his recent omission from the team, plus whether or not the boss has found a formation that best suits his players.

Sergio knows the intention of his manager and the club,” Guardiola said. “I don’t want to sell him, I want him to stay here for a long time until he decides.

“The reason he’s not played the last two games are because Leroy [Sane], Gabriel [Jesus] and Raheem [Sterling] have played amazing. That’s the only reason why.

“If I can change the model I would play all four but I am a guy who likes to play midfield players to have more control.

“If what I feel now is that if Leroy, Gabriel or Raheem don’t play, then he will be in for them.”
