Pep Guardiola has spoken of his pleasure after meeting City Football Group owner, H.H. Sheikh Mansour, during Manchester City’s mid-season training break.
The Blues spent four days in Abu Dhabi last week, before returning to the familiar surroundings of the City Football Academy to complete their preparations for Wednesday night’s FA Cup replay against Huddersfield.
Describing it as ‘important’, Guardiola explained it was a positive meeting between himself, the Club’s owner and Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
“We met, for the first time, Sheikh Mansour and I was really impressed that he knew absolutely everything about us. It was nice to meet him and spend a few hours together.
“He is so happy because he sees all the games and he sees the effort, he demands it. He knows we make absolutely everything, we fight until the end and it was nice because of course it is important for us to know the president so that’s why it was good.
“It is important when we are together, both departments, the chairmen and managers and owners, we have the same objective, the same target.”
The manager also confirmed will miss Wednesday’s replay.
