New signing Gabriel Jesus could be in line for a start against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed the 19-year-old striker is fit and ready for the FA Cup fourth round tie, but that he has yet to make a decision on whether he’ll be handed his full debut.

Pep also admitted Vincent Kompany is fit enough to start but that he has not yet selected who will form City’s rear guard for the trip to Selhurst Park, though Willy Caballero will be in from the off.

Meanwhile, the Catalan had kind words for City’s U18s after a convincing 4-0 victory over Southampton on Thursday evening.

Asked what he made of the performance, Pep, who attended the Academy Stadium contest, responded positively about the Club’s future.

“There are three, four, five players who have huge talent for that age and I think will be able to play for this Club in the future,” he said.

“They play good and we are delighted. Brian Marwood and everyone in the Academy have worked for a long time and do really well.”
