New signing Gabriel Jesus could be in line for a start against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Belgian defender is fully fit and ready to play in the FA Cup game at Crystal Palace this weekend having been on the bench for the 2-2 draw with Tottenham a week ago.

He’s been back in training since the turn of the year and Guardiola says he will definitely start one of the coming games.

However, the Blues boss admitted it was something of a gamble given Kompany’s recent injury record.

“He is fit, that’s the most important thing. He’s been training for a long time and he feels good.

“The second factor is he has not played for a long time.

“So we will have to evaluate his physical condition but he has a lot of experience and he is going to handle that as best as possible.

“He hasn’t been injured at all in the last month.

“Sooner or later, we have to take a risk. In the next games, he is going to play. I don’t know if it is going to be tomorrow but he will try to play in the next games.”
