Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his side must get the ball down and play if they are to win trophies this season.
The Catalan boss has raised concerns throughout the season about how much time the ball is in the air during Premier League matches.
And as his side prepare for their FA Cup third-round tie away at West Ham United on Friday, Guardiola says the key to success this season will be in his players’ ability to pass their way through other sides.
“We have to work more on our games,” he said. “So what I would like to see from my team in the future - because still the ball is up and down, up and down - is to try to put it on the floor and play more.
“So the only way you have success in this year is to play more with the ball, knowing it’s not easy here, but we have to insist that is the only way.
“But we are happy we concede few goals [in recent games], yes, of course.”
