Kevin De Bruyne believes Manchester City’s display against Real Madrid bodes well for the new season.

City beat Zinedine Zidane’s men 4-1 in LA, with goals from  Nicolas Otamendi, John Stones and Raheem Sterling and Brahim Diaz.

De Bruyne says it was a big improvement on the way the team played against Manchester United in Houston last week.

“We had six more days of preparation so everyone looked sharper than against Manchester United,” he said. “That’s normal. It’s a good confidence boost. It’s still a pre-season game.

“The way we looked today was promising. We played very well. We looked sharp today.”
