Kyle Walker is looking forward to getting more minutes under his belt ahead of next week’s season opener against Brighton.
The England international joined Pep Guardiola at a press conference in Iceland ahead of the final pre-season friendly against West Ham on Friday.
Since joining from Spurs in the summer, Walker has impressed fans in his first few appearances on the US tour and the 27-year old is hoping to continue that form against the Hammers.
Walker was questioned on City’s playing style and the full back stated how pleased he was with how pre-season preparations were going, showing supporters that the Blues can play attacking football but keep it tight at the back.
He said: “I think it’s just he likes to play attacking football that I like to play - attractive, attacking football. it’s also about keeping the back door shut and not conceding many goals.
“I feel like we’ve been working on that in pre-season and especially in the last two games we’ve really shown the quality that we’ve got and we can go and hurt teams.”
Pep also spoke about how pre-season has gone, his thoughts on how the new signings have settled and provided fans with a squad update.
