Bacary Sagna is hoping Manchester City’s Champions League exit will provoke a positive reaction for the rest of the season.

City suffered a 3-1 defeat on the night, which meant a 6-6 aggregate score and an exit on the away goals rule.

Kylian Mbappe and Benjamin Mendy put the hosts into an early two-goal lead as City struggled to get into the game early on.

The second half was a different story, with City creating numerous chances and eventually scoring through Leroy Sane‘s close range effort.

However, Tiemoue Bakayoko headed in a third for Monaco and this time City could not find a response before the final whistle.
