Carli Lloyd grew up watching FA Cup competitions as a child in America, now she gets to play in a final.

The Blues kicked off their FA WSL Spring Series adventure against Birmingham last week before the two sides lock horns again in the FA Cup final on Saturday 13 May.

Carli Lloyd will be playing in her first major cup final for City this Saturday and the American cannot wait to step foot on the world famous Wembley pitch.

“This is the moment that this team has been looking forward to, I’ve obviously just come on board but I know the FA Cup final is something this club and I are looking forward to.

“Football is becoming a bit bigger in the US, you turn on the television and you can watch many games but it’s a culture here and I’ve grown up watching the FA Cup and thinking to myself, how cool would it be to have an opportunity to compete in that.

“So being able to now compete in an FA Cup Final at Wembley is pretty spectacular and not many Americans can say that they’ve been a part of that and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got for this team, and hopefully we can walk away as champions.”
