Everyone in the Manchester City squad must be ready when called upon if the Club are to achieve their ultimate goals this season.
That’s the verdict of Eliaquim Mangala, who spoke to journalists ahead of the Blues’ Champions League tie with Feyenoord.
The defender replaced the injured John Stones in the weekend victory over Leicester City and now has the opportunity for an extended run in the side.
And given the fixture schedule, the Frenchman has acknowledged the importance of squad depth.
“John is injured now,” he said.
“It goes like that. You have to try and take your opportunity. We need more than 11 players - it’s not just about me. There are so many games.
“I’m very realistic. I’m going to work and try to help my teammates. When you are in the squad, you have to help the team. We want to help City to win the title and win trophies.”
Mangala joined Pep Guardiola at the pre-match press conference, with the manager providing an update on Stones’ injury and revealing the young pair of Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden are ready if required to play.
