Pep Guardiola has said that he really admires David Silva for his competitive spirit and aggression on the pitch.
City host Southampton in the Premier League on Wednesday 29 November, kick-off at 8pm, and the boss has shared his thoughts ahead of the game.
Pep believes that Silva will go down in Club history as a legend and is keen for the Spaniard to stay with the Blues.
“What I like the most with David [Silva] is that he’s a guy who can be a little serious in life and little shy, but to see - as a more technical player in the league - how competitive and aggressive he is when he’s usually more about technique and passes,” Guardiola said ahead of Wednesday’s clash.
“I admire him – I admire him a lot because he’s perfect for, for example, Spanish football and in that situation.
“But he’s quick, his speed, and playing in this weather – in wind and tough conditions.
“Like Yaya [Toure], Vincent [Kompany], Jo Hart, like Zaba [Pablo Zabaleta] and many other players – he’s a real legend and he will be written in the books.
“I’m so happy, hopefully we can continue together for the next few years.”
During the press conference the boss also gave an update on skipper Vincent Kompany and spoke about Yaya Toure.
