New Manchester City Academy Director Jason Wilcox speaks exclusively to CityTV on his new position.
The former U18s boss takes up the position permanently, having fulfilled the role on an interim basis since June 2017.
In his five years at the Club, Wilcox led the U18s to a national title and reached two FA Youth Cup finals, before moving on to become head of academy coaching, in which he was responsible for the strategy across all age-groups at the City Football Academy.
Commenting on his appointment, the former England international expressed his excitement at the commencement and revealed the similarities between his and Pep Guardiola’s philosophy.
“I love the way the first team play football, I’ve studied Pep for a long time, before he came here, so my idea of how to play football is the same as Txiki’s,” he said.
“We’ve got the same view of how we want to play.”
