Pep Guardiola and David Silva have addressed the press in Naples ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Napoli.
Pep said: “I am honoured to be here as a coach,” he said. “We have two difficult away games [in Group F].
“This game [against Napoli] is about respect so there should never be fear. We are a young team - we do not share the same history as others.
“I am so, so happy. How we win, how we fight without the ball. It is a process. [But] we are still far away because it is only October.”
City know a draw in Naples will guarantee a top-two finish in Group F, enough to see them safely through to the last 16.
But Guardiola says his side only know one way.
“Why would we play for a draw when we can go for a win?” he said.
“Tomorrow we have a big, big challenge. There are moments we will have to defend like never before and I will see how the team react.”
