Pep on January transfer window and Stoke test

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola addressed the media on Friday ahead of the visit of Stoke.

He updated us on the fitness of Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany – and discussed the threat Stoke will pose.

He also talked transfers. Asked about reports linking him with Alexis Sanchez in January, Guardiola said:

“The transfer window is closed now. It was open for long. Now it is closed.

“We will see. We are in October. Only problem we have - a big, big problem - is Mendy, six months out.

“We are going to soften this situation.”
