Pep Guardiola admits that there are still and always will be areas to improve but also thinks that City’s result vs Stoke was the best performance that he has seen.
Our manager was in high spirits after City’s 7-2 win against Stoke City during our afternoon kick-off at the Etihad. Pep had a lot to say about our performance, praising the players and their finishing.
“We can always do better but I cannot deny that today was the best performance since I arrived here.
“This is the way we want to play, our confidence is high. Everybody believes we are going to win. We create many chances.”
When asked about Kevin De Bruyne’s performance, Pep was quick to applaud the Belgian’s style of play.
“Kevin is a guy that is so dynamic and can control the game. He is a big talent and made a good performance today!”
The focus is now on Tuesday’s match against Napoli in the Champions League as City aim to edge one step closer to qualification.
Guardiola knows how important a victory would be against the current Serie A leaders and he wants the fans to cheer on the home side from the stands.
“I encourage the fans to come on Tuesday against Napoli because it will be an amazing game. Two teams with similar styles.”
