Pep Guardiola has praised the quality of assist-king, David Silva, ahead of Manchester City’s clash against Stoke.

Silva has turned in a number of stunning performances in the campaign already, providing more assists than any other player in the Premier League so far this season.
His boss believes that the Spanish midfielder is part of the Club’s history.

“His team mates give him a lot of credit about his quality - the media, and the fans as well,” the manager stated.

“He’s a special player, a player I like a lot. He’s intelligent, he’s a fighter, he’s a competitor he’s a winner. He’s a guy who has the ability to keep the ball.

“He’s such an important player for us. He’s so important. He loves to be here and is a part of the history.”

The City boss was also asked whether Silva would sign a new contract with the Club, as his current deal expires in 2019.

“We would like him to,” Guardiola explained. “Of course we would.”
