Pep Guardiola and John Stones have addressed the media ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Feyenoord.

City will battle against Feyenoord in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday evening, which will be our opening match of the campaign. Napoli and Shakhtar Donetsk are the other two sides in Group F.

During the pre-match press conference, Guardiola said that he is ready to play his strongest side against the Dutch team.

“I respect Feyenoord. I will put my best team on the pitch. We have to win respect in Europe. Every game is a chance for us.

“We are still in the process of growing up. We are so happy with the players we have. We will see what happens.

“Champions League is so demanding, The teams are so physical. If we are not at our top level, we cannot compete.

“It’s better to be calm and play good. When you arrive in last stages, the dream is there, close. For now, it’s too far away.”

Stones also spoke about his excitement about playing in the Champions League...

“I’ve been in England all my career but there’s an excitement of going abroad and playing teams you’ve watched for years.”
