Hear from Man City boss Pep Guardiola ahead of the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The boss has revealed Vincent Kompany is in line for a return when Manchester City welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The skipper has missed the last four games through injury, but is fit enough to be in contention for a start when the Eagles visit this weekend.

Addressing journalists at his pre-match press conference, the manager admitted he largely has a full squad from which to choose from.

“The injury situation is OK,” explained the Catalan.

“Vinny has come back and we were lucky with Gundogan, so we will see.”

The Blues welcome a Palace side who find themselves bottom of the Premier League and who have failed to score a goal.

Yet Guardiola has urged his side to focus, admitting that, despite their form, Roy Hodgson’s outfit have impressed him with their performances.

“It is not easy [to play a struggling team],” he added. “The competition is so tough.

“It is important to stay fit, avoid injuries - that is the best way.

“But in the Premier League, every single team can beat the other one.

“I have a lot of respect for Crystal Palace from what I have seen. Against Burnley, they created a lot of chances.

“I showed my players the chances they created in two games. They have quality and we have to be careful.

“The players must know that we could lose that game tomorrow.

“When they know that, we are closer to winning the game.”

The manager also acknowledged the positive impact of Benjamin Mendy, a player he believes is starting to show his quality after returning to full fitness.

“Mendy arrived injured. He didn’t take part in a lot of training sessions but he has brought a lot of energy.

“Like Gabriel Jesus, we believe he can improve but we are so happy with him.”
