Pep Guardiola believes Gabriel Jesus is ready to kick-on again at Manchester City in the wake of his contract extension.
The exciting young Brazilian striker, who officially joined City from Palmeiras in January 2017, has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Club until 2023.
Gabriel has made a major impact in his first 18 months at City, scoring 24 goals in 53 games and playing a significant role in our Premier League and Carabao Cup successes of last season.

But looking to the future, the City manager believes there is even more to come from the 21-year-old boy from Brazil thanks in part to Gabriel’s tenacious fighting spirit.
“Gabriel has improved a lot since he came,” said Pep speaking at Friday’s press conference ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea. “His fight to put every effort in is incredible… I never met one striker fight like he fights.
“He is able to improve, he wants to. Congratulations to him and thanks for him his trust with us to stay longer.”

Looking ahead to the game, Guardiola said that City would be stretching every sinew in a bid to claim the Community Shield and so head into the new Premier League season on a positive, winning note.
“Of course we want to win, we try in short time together to review what we have done, analyse Chelsea, and then play the final,” Pep added.
“We are going to try, every game shows you if you are in a good path.”
