Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised David Silva’s Spain career.
The midfielder won the 2010 World Cup, as well as the 2008 and 2012 European Championships, before announcing his international retirement earlier this week.
He played 125 times for Spain, scoring 35 goals.
And Guardiola, himself capped 47 times for Spain, says Silva’s achievements are worthy of praise.
“He decided to do that,” he said. “Big congratulations, a World Cup, over 100 caps,.
“He decide because no one pushes him. He can rest a little bit more with his wife, family and little boy and train with us.”
