Pep Guardiola say his Manchester City players are comfortable and happy playing in the system that has proved so successful this season and last.
The City set-up changed for opening few games of the 2018/19 campaign with Guardiola deploying a variety of formations.
However, since then the boss had largely reverted to the 4-3-3 formation that proved so effective over the course of last season’s record-breaking campaign.
Asked why he had kept faith with that tactical approach over the past few months at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s home game with Crystal Palace, Guardiola said: “The team is comfortable playing that way. As much as you play that way you have more routine.

“Sometimes we change to create more space. For example, with Mendy you can play wider and attack more with the full-backs and the wingers.
“But our approach is quite similar. I think everyone has featured quite a lot this this season except Danilo because of injury.
“Now we are in the Carabao Cup semi-final and two games so everyone will play a lot of minutes so tomorrow we will make a few changes, but we will try to do the same.”
