Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Pep said: “It’s a chance for me to show myself.
“I don’t like the situation but its common in football. I’ll prove myself to help them (the squad) to help each other. We move forward.
“I don’t have the secrets to know what will happen in the future but I try to make the situation more general, it’s a challenge for me.”
Pep went on to explain that he hasn’t once doubted his players, hailing the squad as “heroes”.
“There is a lot of work and I accept the situation,” Guardiola added. “I know my players and I won’t doubt them for a second. I know what they have to do.
“I never point to finger, I look in the mirror and instead say what can I do to help them.
“They are heroes for me. Nothing is going to change.”
