Pep Guardiola answered questions about academy players, City’s packed fixture list and Vincent Kompany during his recent press conference.
Manchester City head to the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday to face Neil Warnock’s side in the fourth-round of the FA Cup.
City have got an incredibly busy game schedule as the Blues remain alive in all four competitions, and when Pep was asked whether he would prefer the FA Cup to become a mid-week competition he shared his thoughts.
“I would like the Carabao Cup semi-final played one game,” Pep explained. “I would like the FA Cup played as one game with no replays, like the other managers want but, like I said before, it’s not going to happen.”
When asked whether the number of games was harming the players, Guardiola responded: “Of course, but it’s only the managers who complain about that.
“There are a lot of games, no recoveries, a lot of injuries, and we know that – but it is what it is.”
