The Argentine striker bagged his 11th treble for the Club and his 14th Premier League goals against the Magpies, as the Blues returned to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool.
Aguero reflected on his display and expressed the importance of reinstating his side’s 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
“The three points are really important for us,” he told CityTV. “It’s what we wanted.
“I’m really happy for the goals but especially the three points. It’s really good and will help us along in the race for the Premier League title.
“In the Premier League, all of the games are difficult. Against Newcastle, I have a really good average. Sometimes it happens against some teams.
“We are playing really good at home. We feel really strong. We keep winning at the Etihad which is the most important. Rivals come here and respect us a lot.
“It’s going to depend on us now. We’re a good team in good shape. We have to keep the same way in the Premier League to make it easier for us to get it in the end.
“Hopefully, we will keep going the same way.”
