Manchester City are delighted to announce Caroline Weir as our second signing of the summer.
The forward joins from Liverpool Ladies on a two-year-deal, having netted six goals over the course of the 2017/18 season.
The 22-year-old secured Scotland’s Player of the Year Award in 2016 and is looking forward to joining some of her international team mates in Manchester and challenge for trophies in the coming season.
“I’m really excited to be here. It’s a great club and I’m really delighted to be a part of it,” Weir told ManCity.com. “City are leading the way in the women’s game in so many different ways.
“There are so many great players here and I think it’s a challenge to compete for trophies and try to improve – which is what brought me here.
“I’ve spoken to Claire Emslie a little bit already as I know her very well, she’s excited for me to join and I saw Jen Beattie earlier as well – it’s great to see some familiar faces, but I’m excited to meet the rest of my team mates too.”
