The defensive midfielder told Sports Beat the Seleção’s preparation has been ‘extremely well executed’ with the team focused on the aim to reach the final.

Tite’s side face Croatia at Anfield in a friendly on Sunday 3 June (3pm) and the City man is relishing the chance to gain valuable experience ahead of the summer tournament in Russia.

Brazil’s Group E campaign kicks off on Sunday 17 June against Switzerland before the 2002 champions lock horns with Costa Rica (Friday 22 June) and Serbia (Wednesday 27 June).

Fernandinho is one of four City men to represent the Seleção, alongside Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Danilo.
