Aymeric Laporte has explained how he is still adjusting to life in the Premier League, but is delighted to have helped City to secure another top flight win.
City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 18 points following a 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
Bernardo Silva helped the Blues to a hard-fought win by scoring in the opening moments of the second half at the Etihad.
“I always try hard,” the January signing explained. “Obviously when you move countries and competitions it can be difficult but I’m trying to adapt to the game and I’m still in the process of adapting but I’m really happy for the performance.”
Speaking about Bernardo’s goal, the Frenchman stated the importance of taking the lead so early in the second half.
“I would say that when you score just before or after half time then it’s very important as it gives a confidence boost, but also provides a blow for the other team so obviously that was very important,” Laporte added.
