The Brazilian star netted his first hat-trick of his senior career in what was a memorable Champions League night at the Etihad.

Jesus’ hat-trick, along with goals from David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez inched the Blues one step closer to Round of 16 qualification.

The striker’s mum, who we all know so well from his celebrations, was at the Etihad to see her son’s first hat-trick.

“I’m very happy,” Jesus told CityTV. “The first hat trick of my career. I have never done it before and tonight is a very special night for me.

“I’ve been working a lot with strength and conditioning, despite the rotation in the team I’ve been working hard at this.

“That’s what has to be done because there are so many good players of quality, everyone have to play.

“I’m really happy to be able to work and keep my head up and keep going.

“My mum is here and these goals are for her!”
