Pep Guardiola is confident the goals will soon start flowing once again for Gabriel Jesus.
Though the Manchester City manager boss says he is more than happy with the striker’s contribution, the Brazilian has been frustrated in front of goal this season, with only the one Premier League goal to his credit so far.
Jesus produced an excellent all-round display in last Thursday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup fourth round win over Fulham and came agonisingly close to scoring on several occasions.
And the City manager says his fine all-round contribution is also making a big impact on the team’s fortunes

“Of course, Gabriel needs the goal because he’s a striker. They live for that,” said Guardiola as he looked ahead to Sunday’s Premier League clash with Southampton.
“But against Fulham the performance he did was excellent. How he created, how he moved. With his movement, Gabriel is helping a lot, like with the third goal at Donetsk that Bernardo scored.
“He’s a guy who gives us a lot. He’s a young player who can still improve and become calmer inside the box. That’s why he extended his contract (earlier this season).
“I’m so satisfied with the way he is playing so far this season, but of course he needs the goals. But we are only just in November so many things are going to happen in the future.”
