The boss was, once again, asked about the upcoming transfer market with a particular focus on needing cover for Fernandinho.

When asked whether the Brazilian could play every game this season, Pep responded: “No way. We could play him every game but we would kill him!

“Danilo, Fabian Delph, Ilkay Gundogan, Oleks Zinchenko can all play there.

“I’m so delighted with squad we have. Imagine if we bring another – it’s better like this.”
