Pep Guardiola believes Kevin De Bruyne’s return from action could prove crucial in the Club’s quest for success this season.
After more that two months on the sidelines after sustaining a lateral collateral ligament (LCL) lesion in his right knee during training, the Belgian midfielder made a welcome return to action as a second half substitute in the 5-0 Premier League home win over Burnley.
And Guardiola is in no doubt that De Bruyne’s return to action is just the boost the Blues need as the season hots up.
Reflecting on the win and KDB’s comeback, the City manager said: “Kevin is quick. There is no pain, he is so strong. He needs minutes that is why playing 30 minutes is important.
“We will see about Shakhtar. He has three years together, so when we say something he knows straight away what to do.
“He is a guy who will help us achieve. Our first target is the result, which we feel is a consequence of how we play. And since the beginning we said that.”
