Vincent Kompany is looking forward to returning to Germany for City’s Champions League clash with Hoffenheim.

The Blues face Julian Nagelsmann’s side in Matchday Two of Group F, after losing the opening game at home to Lyon. Hoffenheim meanwhile held Shakhtar Donetsk to a draw.

Kompany, having signed for City from Hamburg, has locked horns with the German outfit before and has warned against complacency.

“Time goes fast,” he declared. “Back then, Hoffenheim were in a lower league but we have seen the rise of the team, including how they played against Liverpool.

“We lost our first game (in Group F) and we can’t underestimate other teams.”
