Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he is inspired by the tradition and history of the FA Cup.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of City’s FA Cup semi-final against Brighton at Wembley tomorrow, the manager spoke of how he would watch the FA Cup final as a youngster back home in Spain.
And he revealed how hungry City were to add to our FA Cup triumphs, the Club last having lifted the iconic trophy back in 2011.
“Of course. When I was young in Catalonia you saw the final of FA Cup more than Premier League games,” said Guardiola.
“The tradition, the fans, the managers.
“I cannot deny how nice it would be for me personally. The club has won it five times and we want another one, so we will try.”

The manager also spoke about how City’s quest to secure more silverware this season would help to create new chapters in the Club’s history.
Having already won the Carabao Cup, City are now chasing what would be a historic quadruple, with the Club also through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and currently top of the Premier League.
“Still we are young, in terms of a lot of titles, but every season when you win you can be a better club,” said Guardiola.
“That is the target. We cannot deny the last decade it’s really good. We now have that and we will see how far we can get on another level.”
